There's an interesting alternate history here where we could have gotten very different albums then what ended up being the run from Strictly to Me Against The World.The hook is “It’s just me against the world”. I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto became the foundation for "Changes", which became one of Pac's most iconic songs. 16 on Death Row had that conscious Pac spirit. Do For Love became a hit for good reason. Lie to Kick It is a smooth head nodding collabo. There's some weird stuff on this album, like the Where Do We Go From Here Interlude and When I Get Free, and there's definite filler, but I'm glad that these songs still exist in some form.
I would have liked to have had the original beats, but I realize that sampling clearances and quality of recording prevents some of the OG versions from being officially released (I still think there is a big enough market to re-release these albums with collectors editions with as much of the OG and unreleased content as possible, sell some expensive vinyl boxsets to the Pac hardcores, put it up on streaming, but nothing like this has been done with Pac's music in years). Seriously, I tried Googling them and came up with nothing but other people and publications asking who the hell they are, lol), but at least sounds of the era and style. This one was remixed too (who the hell are We Got Kidz Productions? They produced most of the album, and no one heard of them before or since R U Still Down. It actually mostly sounds like an actual Pac album, unlike some of the later ones that were remixed with contemporary beats. One of the better posthumous Pac albums (my favorite is Still I Rise).
